Our team of technicians take great care in creating teeth with a high level of strength, functionality and aesthetic appearance. To achieve these high standards constant revision in technique, materials and equipment are required. The images on the (right) show examples of before and after views of improved aesthetics in completed restorations.
Richmond Ceramics technicians employ modern techniques to scan prepared teeth for all ceramic and zirconia crowns and implants allowing for a truly life like appearance. This is the aim of our technicians to restore functionality and leave the patient with an improved smile after the dentist has completed the restoration.
The dental technicians role is to liaise with the dentist and construct a matching colour and texture so the new tooth or teeth will blend in seemlessly with existing teeth. Generally the only interaction that the dental technician has with the patient is to take a shade match to ensure that the teeth are matched successfully. This however is not always the case as it's not possible for the patient to travel to the dental laboratory and in these circumstances a dentist will take the shade of the tooth or teeth.
Also the dentist may take a photo of the teeth surrounding the tooth or teeth to be restored or write a note with a sketch attached showing the shades and characteristics of the tooth or teeth to be restored. This enables the dental technician to replicate the tooth or teeth so it appears to go undetected by the human eye as anything other than a natural tooth. This however is not always possible depending on the circumstance of the restoration, so to be functional and as natural will be the aim producing the end result of the restoration.
